Community Consultation

Hullavington’s future matters to us all. An important part of village life is our shop, which is currently privately owned, with the Post Office operating as a separate business but remaining an integral part of the service provided to residents.

This page brings together community feedback, consultation updates and information from previous meetings relating to the future of the village shop.

As we explore the possibility of a community-run village shop, it is essential that we listen to and engage with residents, businesses and other stakeholders. We want to understand what matters most, answer questions, and gather ideas that can help shape the future of this valuable community asset.

Your views are important. By working together, we can better understand the role the shop plays in village life, how it serves residents and visitors, and how it can continue to support a thriving and sustainable community for generations to come.

Hullavington Village Shop – Community Feedback (19 September 2026)

Volunteers Rosie, Matt and Jan were delighted to represent the Village Shop at the Neighbourhood Development Plan Public Meeting, held in the Village Hall.

The event provided an opportunity to answer questions and gather feedback on the prospect of community ownership. Discussions covered survey results, volunteering opportunities, new product ranges, what a community-run shop could offer, and whether it could help secure a sustainable future for Hullavington.

With over 100 people attending, many visited the shop display and shared their views. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with residents recognising the improvements already made and expressing strong support for the shop’s future as a community-run asset.
