How can I help shape the updated NDP?
Everyone who lives or works in Hullavington has the opportunity to help shape the updated Neighbourhood Development Plan.
There will be a number of opportunities to get involved throughout the process, including:
- attending public consultation events
- completing surveys and questionnaires
- commenting on draft proposals
- speaking to members of the Steering Group
- responding to the formal public consultation before the Plan is submitted.
Every comment received will be carefully considered before the Plan is finalised. Whether you have lived in Hullavington for 50 years or moved here recently, your views matter. It’s not too late to have your say and help shape the final Plan.

What happens to the feedback residents provide?
Community feedback is one of the most important parts of preparing the updated NDP. Comments received during consultation are reviewed by the Steering Group and help shape the next version of the Plan. Where appropriate, feedback will lead to changes or improvements before the document is submitted to Wiltshire Council.
However not every suggestion can be incorporated. That’s because the NDP must comply with national planning policy, Wiltshire Council’s Local Plan and planning legislation. Where suggestions cannot be included, the reasons will be explained where appropriate.
The formal consultation process also requires the Steering Group to prepare a Consultation Statement, showing how the community has been consulted and how the feedback received has influenced the Plan.

Will residents get to vote on the NDP?
Yes. Once the updated NDP has been prepared, consulted upon and independently examined, it will be put to a local referendum.
Everyone who is registered to vote and lives within the designated neighbourhood area will be entitled to vote.
If more than 50% of those voting vote ‘Yes’, Wiltshire Council will formally adopt the Plan and it will become part of the statutory development plan for the area.
