Our current Neighbourhood Development Plan covers the period 2016–2026, so it is now reaching the end of its life. Like any long-term plan, it needs updating to reflect changing circumstances and to help guide the village over the next planning period. 

Since the original Plan was prepared, the planning landscape has changed significantly. National housing targets have increased, meaning Wiltshire Council is expected to plan for substantially more new homes than before. Based on the information available, Hullavington is currently expected to accommodate around 120 new homes between 2026 and 2041, although the final requirement will depend on the adopted Wiltshire Local Plan and any future changes to national planning policy.

Updating the NDP gives the village the best opportunity to influence how any future development takes place, including where new homes are located, what they look like, what infrastructure and green spaces are provided, and how development benefits the wider community.

In short, we may not be able to decide whether development happens, but we can help ensure that, if it does, it happens in the right places, reflects the character of the village and delivers the greatest possible benefit for Hullavington. .
