Hullavington Weekly: Pancakes, Puddles, and Punts!

Hello neighbours! It’s looking like a busy week ahead in the village. Whether you’re looking to flip some pancakes or cheer on your country in the rugby, here is everything you need to know to navigate the next few days smoothly.

🥞 Pancake Tuesday (February 17th)

Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday, please support local while getting your batter fix.

  • Shop Local: Our village shop is fully stocked with free range eggs, flour, lemons, and plenty of toppings including classic golden syrup and sugar.

🚧 Essential Travel Update: Grittleton Road Closure

Please take note of the following roadworks to avoid a frustrating detour. Wiltshire Council will be attending to the chaotic verges with help from one of our local farming teams.

  • When: Tuesday (Feb 17) & Wednesday (Feb 18), 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Where: Grittleton Road, specifically the stretch between the Dog Kennels up to Five Ways.
  • Access: The road will be fully closed during these hours. A detailed map can be found on the Road Closure notice on the parish council website.

🏉 Six Nations at the Village Hall

Looking ahead to next weekend, join the neighbours at the Village Hall for the next round of the Six Nations.

  • Atmosphere: Big screen, local ales, and a heated (but friendly!) rivalry.
  • Entry: Free for all residents. Feel free to bring your own snacks, though the bar will be open! Details on the Community What’s On page.

Community Note: Some residents have received notice of a scheduled power cut planned for the 5th March. We are looking at making the small village hall into a hub for the day. More details to follow.
