The Hullavington Weekly: From power cuts to planning ahead!

What a week it has been! From major celebrations to community-wide consultations, Hullavington has been a hive of activity. It’s in weeks like this that our village spirit truly shines.

🌟 Reflections on a Busy Week

  • A Milestone Celebration: We were delighted to help celebrate Eric’s 90th Birthday in the village this week. Many happy returns once again—it was wonderful to see so many out to recognise Eric’s contribution to village life!
  • Powering Up: To get the new estate officially connected, we experienced a major planned outage. A huge thank you to everyone who helped man the Warm Space in the Church;
  • Music & Maps: Friday night’s live music in the hall was the perfect way to unwind, and Saturday morning’s Neighbourhood Development Consultation saw a fantastic turnout. Thank you for your passionate feedback on the future of our village.

🧹 Coming Up Next: The Big Village Spring Clean!

It’s time to get Hullavington sparkling.

  • The Big Litter Pick: Meet on the Village Green this Saturday at 10:00 AM. We’ll provide the bags and grabbers—just bring your enthusiasm!
  • Street Sign Shine: While we’re out, let’s give our street name signs a quick scrub. A little soapy water makes a world of difference to how the village looks.

🚧 Roads & Drainage Update

  • Vactor Central Works: You’ll notice the heavy machinery out this week as Vactor Central begins cleaning and jetting the drains and gullies from Hullavington through to Norton. No roads will be closed for this but there may be some delays.
  • The Norton Road “Monster”: Still no fresh news on the next stage in repairing the significant pothole on the road towards the A249. However, the traffic lights will remain in place indefinitely to ensure everyone can navigate that stretch safely.

📅 Save the Date: Saturday 28th March

Mark your calendars for two key events at the Village Hall:

  1. NDP Drop-in (4:30 PM): Another chance to meet the Neighbourhood Development Team, give feedback and ask questions.
  2. Annual Parish Meeting (6:30 PM): Join us for a summary presentation from the NDP team, our various clubs, update on the village green – agenda to follow.
