The Hullavington Weekly – Spring is in the air!

There’s plenty happening in and around the village this April, with something for everyone—from community talks and film nights to family fun and important local meetings. Here’s what’s coming up:


🎬 15th April – Film Night

📍 Village Hall | Doors open 7:00pm | Film starts 7:30pm

Join us for an evening at the movies with The Choral (2025, Certificate 12, 1hr 40 mins).

Starring Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, and Simon Russell Beale, and directed by Nicholas Hytner with a script by Alan Bennett, this moving drama is set during the First World War. As the local choral society loses members to the war effort, a determined committee recruits new voices and finds strength through music and community.

🎟️ Entry: £3 on the night
No membership required—everyone is welcome!


🐑 18th April – Family Fun Day

📍 The Park, Grittleton | 🕛 12:00pm – 4:00pm

A fun-filled day for all ages!

Enjoy:

  • Classic country games
  • Meet the animals
  • Fun dog show
  • BBQ, teas, and cakes

🎟️ Entry: £5 (children go free)
All proceeds support Stop Lime Down.


🏡 20th April – Neighbourhood Steering Committee Meeting

📍 Village Hall | 🕢 7:30pm

The regular meeting of the Neighbourhood Steering Committee will take place at the Village Hall. Residents are very welcome to attend and stay informed about local developments.

☀️ 21st April – Lime Down Solar: Open Floor Hearing

📍 Neeld Community & Arts Centre, Chippenham | 🕘 From 9:00am

This preliminary meeting includes an open floor hearing, giving individuals the chance to speak directly to the Examining Authority about their views on the Lime Down Solar proposal.

If space allows, unregistered attendees may also be admitted.


22nd April – Lime Down Solar: Issue Specific Hearing

📍 Neeld Community & Arts Centre, Chippenham | 🕘 From 9:00am

This session will focus on key aspects of the proposed development, including:

  • Site selection and alternatives
  • Design evolution
  • Draft Development Consent Order
  • Generating capacity

Again, entry may be possible on the day if space permits.
