Hello everyone! There is a real buzz in the air this week. As the weather turns and the village begins to bloom, we are officially kicking off our campaign for the Best Kept Village competition.
This is a big week for Hullavington, and we need your hands, your hearts, and your green thumbs to make it a success! Here is your roadmap for the week ahead:
đŁď¸ Road Update: Good News!
We have some most welcome news regarding our local travel:
- Grittleton Road: The improvements are now officially finished!
- Road Closure Cancelled: The proposed road closure for the coming week has been cancelled. Hurrah! So buses and travel back to normal.
⨠Tuesday, May 5th: The Shop Spruce-Up
Our local shop is the hub of our community, and it deserves a little extra sparkle. Volunteers will be giving the shop and its immediate surroundings a deep clean to get it looking its best.
- What:Â Scrubbing, painting, and polishing.
- When:Â Tuesday morning, 11.00am.
đ Wednesday, May 6th: Welcoming Wildlife Talk
Looking for inspiration for your own patch of Hullavington? The Hullavington Facebook Wildlife Matters group has organised a free evening talk thatâs all about bringing our gardens to life.
- Topic:Â Gardening for Wildlifeâhow to invite more bees, birds, and butterflies into your backyard.
- Guest Speakers: Experts from the Malmesbury Natural History Group.
- When: Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
- Where:Â The Church Meeting Room.
- Who:Â Everyone! All ages are very welcome.
đ§š Saturday, May 9th: The BIG Village Spring Clean
This is the main event! If we want to catch the judges’ eyes for the Best Kept Village award, we need the whole village to sparkle.
- When: Saturday, starting at 10:00 AM.
- Meeting Point:Â The Village Hall.
- The Plan:Â Weâll be out in force clearing gutters, trimming edges, cleaning road signs and tidying up our lanes and communal spaces.
