The Weekly Village Buzz: Sunshine, Smooth Moves, and Fete Fever!

Hello neighbours! What an absolute cracker of a week it’s been in the village. For details of What’s On go to the Community website here.

💃 Mamma Mia! What a Night!

Wow. Just… wow! The Mamma Mia evening was a superb, glittering success. A massive thank you to everyone who came out, dusted off their best 70s denim and sparkles, and channeled their inner Dancing Queen. The atmosphere was absolutely electric, the music was top-tier, and the singing (if we can call it that after a glass or two!) could probably be heard three parishes over. It was wonderful to see the community coming together to laugh, dance, and make memories. ABBA would definitely approve.

🏃‍♂️ Trim Trail Officially Launched!

Alongside our theatrical success, this week marked the much-welcomed formal launch of our brand-new Trim Trail on the Village Green! It is fantastic to see this project come to life, allowing us to truly make the most of our beautiful green space.

⚠️ SCHOOL PICK-UP ALERT: Reports are flooding in that the afternoon school run is now taking significantly longer than usual! It seems local children have officially declared the Trim Trail an unmissable post-school obstacle course.

🎪 Prepare for Fete Season!

Dust off your sunhats and get your loose change ready, because we are officially moving into the absolute highlights of the village calendar: Fete Season is here!

We have a spectacular fortnight of tradition, cake stalls, and tombolas ahead of us:

  • Next Saturday (June 13th): The Church Fete
    • Where: The beautiful grounds of the Court House.
    • Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
    • Expect: All the classic staples—plants, books, standard-defying home bakes, and plenty of chat. Let’s pack the grounds and support our local church!
  • The Week After (June 20th): The School Fete
    • Keep your eyes peeled for more details next week, but expect plenty of games, activities, and school-yard rivalry at the coconut shy.

Let’s all collectively do a sun dance and hope for some proper, uninterrupted British summer weather to carry us through the festivities.

See you on the Court House lawns next Saturday!
