The Hullavington Weekly: Cake, Sunshine, and Cinema Nights!

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s parish round-up. What a fantastic weekend it’s been—and the summer fun is only just getting started!

☀️ A Picture-Perfect Traditional Church Fete!

Yesterday, was our annual Church Fete, and it was everything you could possibly hope for in a classic British summer tradition. The weather smiled on us, the bunting fluttered perfectly in the breeze, and the community turned out in droves.

From the fiercely competitive standard of the tug of war to the dramatic tension of the tombola and the wonderful array of home made goodies, it was a day filled with laughter, catching up with old friends, and welcoming new faces.

An event like this doesn’t just happen. A huge, heartfelt thank you goes out to every single person who made yesterday such a resounding success.

🎪 Round Two: The School Fete is Next Saturday!

If you didn’t get your fill of games, raffle tickets, and ice cream yesterday—or if you’re just eager for more—you’re in luck! We get to do it all over again next weekend.

The School Fete is happening next Saturday. The friends of our school have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to prep some fantastic stalls and entertainment. Make sure to clear your schedule, bring the family, and let’s give the school the same incredible turnout and support we saw yesterday!

🎬 Wednesday Film Night: H is for Hawk

Looking for a mid-week treat? Join us this Wednesday evening from 7pm for our latest community film night.

This week, will see the screening of the deeply moving and visually stunning adaptation of “H is for Hawk.” Based on Helen Macdonald’s award-winning memoir, it’s a beautiful, raw, and ultimately uplifting story of grief, healing, and the incredible bond formed between a woman and a fiercely untamed goshawk.

  • When: Wednesday Evening from 7pm in the Village Hall
  • What to bring: Yourselves, a friend, and maybe a tissue or two!

🛒 Local Shop Updates & World Cup Artwork!

Next time you are passing by the village shop, please take a moment to stop and look at the front window. The shop window is displaying the children’s World Cup artwork! A huge well done to all our talented young artists.

The Shop Ordering Service will be sending out the regular order forms in the coming days plus upcoming news on this superb local service.
