What a weekend! The School Fete was an absolute triumph. A massive THANK YOU to the army of volunteers who set up gazebos, baked cakes, painted faces and ran stalls. You are the heartbeat of our village, and your hard work raised vital funds for the school while giving us all a brilliant afternoon.
Wednesday Night is Film Night: Wuthering Heights
We’re keeping the heat turned up this Wednesday at the Village Hall with a wonderfully dramatic, rather steamy adaptation of Wuthering Heights. Expect sweeping Yorkshire moors, brooding glances, intense passions, and plenty of rain to contrast with the weather we are currently having! Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the film starts promptly at 7:30 PM. Full details on What’s On.
Beat the Heat
Speaking of steam, we are facing an Amber hot weather alert this week. Please check in on neighbours, friends, and anyone in the village who might struggle with the intense heat. A quick visit to ensure they are coping makes a huge difference.
📍 St Mary Magdalene: Our Official Cool Space
If your home gets too hot, you are not coping with the heat or you’d just like a break from the heat, the Church of St Mary Magdalene is open as our official community “Cool Site.” Its thick stone walls keep the interior beautifully chilled.
More Info: Hullavington Parish Council, in collaboration with the church, has arranged for the doors to be open during the day with cold water available and accessible toilet facilities. Full details and heat safety advice are available on the Hullavington Parish Council website.
Stay safe, drink plenty of water, and see you on Wednesday!
