The Hullavington Weekly: Lime Down Hearing & Upcoming Heatwave

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s blog. It is shaping up to be another very hot week, so a quick reminder: please make use of our beautiful, cool church space if you need to escape the heat this week. It’s a wonderful place to stay safe and comfortable when the temperatures rise. Just keep the door shut!

Here is everything you need to know about what happened last week and what is coming up next.

🏛️ The Planning Inspectorate Open Hearing on Lime Down

Last week marked a major milestone with the Planning Inspectorate’s open hearing.

The hearing covered several critical areas:

  • Residents’ Addresses: community members shared firsthand perspectives on how the proposed project will impact daily life.
  • Landscape Deep Dive: A significant portion of the following days were dedicated to assessing the visual and environmental impact on our countryside.
  • Transport & Infrastructure: The panel looked closely at the traffic, road safety, and transport logistics tied to the project.

Watch the Hearing: The official videos of the session haven’t been published yet, but as soon as the links are live, we will share the link here.

Read The Parish Council Response: In the meantime, you can read the exact representation made by the Parish Council by clicking here.

🗓️ On the Agenda This Week

We have two meetings happening this week. Agendas for both are on the Parish Council Website here.

  • Monday Evening | 7:30 PM | Village Hall
    • Neighbourhood Steering Group Meeting: Come along to hear the latest progress on our neighbourhood plans. All residents are incredibly welcome to attend.
  • Wednesday Evening | 7:30 PM | Village Hall
    • Ordinary Parish Council Meeting: The standard monthly meeting to discuss local matters, maintenance, and community updates.

In the meantime, stay hydrated, look out for your neighbours, and have a great week ahead.

Meeting in the hall, I presume no Short Mat Bowls tomorrow due to the
heat?  I have suggested plug in fans for the village hall.
