Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s village update.
1. Lime Down Solar Park: Open Hearing This Tuesday
As many of you know, the formal independent examination into the proposed Lime Down Solar Park is well underway. This project would significantly impact our surrounding Wiltshire countryside, and it is vital that our community remains engaged.
There is an Open Floor Hearing taking place this coming Tuesday at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon.
- When: Tuesday (Doors open 30 minutes prior to the session start; check the Planning Inspectorate timeline here for precise session times).
- Where: The Renovation Centre, Swindon (Lydiard Fields, Great Western Way, SN5 8UB).
- Why it matters: This is a formal opportunity for registered interested parties, including this time our MP Roz Savage and Debbie Lawley, Chair of our Parish Council, to speak directly to the Planning Inspectorate examiners.
2. Enjoying Our Beautiful Footpaths
We are incredibly lucky to have a wonderful network of public rights of way cutting through our parish.
With the long summer evenings, it’s the perfect opportunity to dust off the walking boots and get outside. Whether you are taking a short stroll or a longer trek, please remember to follow the Countryside Code. For details and maps of many of our local walks follow this link.
If you notice any broken stiles, overgrown paths, or missing fingerposts while you’re out and about, please report on MyWilts and let the Parish Council Clerk know – clerk@hullavington-pc.gov.uk.
3. Our Village Shop Online Ordering is Live!
Fantastic news from our local shop team—the brand-new online ordering system is now fully up and running!
Every loaf of bread or pint of milk bought locally keeps the heart of our village beating.
Have a wonderful week, everyone, and hopefully see some of you in Swindon on Tuesday.
Sarah and Debbie
